ATLANTA -- Author John Brandon and Georgia State University professor Josh Russell will team up for a reading and conversation in Atlanta next week.

The two will be at Mother in the Old Fourth Ward on Thursday, June 5 at 7 p.m.

Brandon is the author of three novels and recently published his first short story collection, Further Joy. The book contains 11 stories and "a stunning assortment of men and women at the edge of possibility-gamblers and psychics, wanderers and priests, all of them on the verge of finding out what they can get away with, and what they can't," according to A Cappella Books in Inman Park, which is sponsoring the reading.

Russell is co-director of GSU's creative writing program. He is also a prize-winning novelist and short story writer.

Copies of both men's books will be available for purchase and signing at the event.

Mother is located at 447 Edgewood Avenue.
