ADOPT A PET: Meet Ginseng

ATLANTA, Ga. – If you dream of coming home to a wet nose, wagging tail and tons of kisses (in addition to, perhaps, a half-chewed shoe or an overturned trashcan) adopt a puppy from your local Humane Society. According to the ASPCA, approximately 5 million to 7 million domesticated animals enter animal shelters nationwide, every year, and approximately 3 million to 4 million are euthanized. However, you can change those numbers by adopting a "companion" for yourself or for your family. Pets are an investment but, in our opinion, an investment well worth the money.

Ginseng is a six-month-old Labrador Retriever looking for a forever home, she currently live at the Mansell Road campus of the Atlanta Humane Society. According to the Humane Society, Ginseng is a very active puppy who will need lots of structure and training. Although she’s six months old, she hasn’t gotten past her active puppy stage and will need a lot of one-on-one attention. The Humane Society doesn’t think she would do well with children, however, they think, over time she could become acclimated to them. She does get along with other dogs, so, having another dog in the house may not be a bad idea.
